Research

Research is a powerful tool for developing knowledge about a given topic or issue, and for hearing the voices of community members who have often been ignored or marginalized. The ways in which we conduct research should always be guided the needs and values of the communities it affects. I’m passionate about integrating different forms of knowledge in research and each project has its on unique and individualized design.

I’m also a stats nerd so in addition to community-based participatory research I welcome more quantitative projects as well.

Whether you are in the beginning stages and looking for a project lead, or need someone to consult on particular aspects of a project, we can discuss what will best meet your needs.

Research contracts are charged starting at $235/hour.

  • Community-Oriented + Relational

"Nothing about us without us". Research should be guided by needs, values and voices of the community it affects. Relational knowledge and lived experience are just as valuable as scientific knowledge.

  • Critical + Indigenous

Research methods are selected based on how they address inequitable power dynamics in scholarship and align with a community's values. Findings are used to support actionable change and Indigenous self-determinism.

  • Qualitative + Quantitative

Qualitative and quantitative research methods each have their own benefits and drawbacks, meet different goals, and have different requirements. However, both can be conducted ethically and equitably.
